A. Personal statement
Dewen Yan is a Chief Physician, Professor, and Director of the Endocrinology Department at Shenzen Second People’s Hospital. He is a member of the standing committee of the Endocrine and Metabolism Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice Chairman of the Endocrinology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, member of the standing committee of the Diabetes Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, Chairman of the Diabetes Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Medical Association, and Vice Chairman of the Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral Disease Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Medical Association. His primary research interests include diabetic cardiomyopathy and bone metabolic disease, and his work is supported by a range of grants from funding bodies that include the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shenzhen Science and Technology Commission, with more than ¥2,470,000 being awarded in total. In the past five years, he has published seven SCI papers and 10 Chinese core journal papers as either first author or corresponding author.
