On August 30th 2024, a delegation from the University of Verona, led by Prof. Daniele De Santis (Dean of the Graduate School), Dr. Riccardo Nocini, and Dr. Federico Gelpi, visited Shenzhen University (SZU). This visit marked another significant step in the collaboration between SZU and the University of Verona, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities in May 2024.

An academic exchange event was held at the SZU General Hospital in the morning of August 30th. The event was attended by Prof. Xingzhi Xu (Executive Dean, SZU Medical School), Prof. Ming Zhang (Assistant Dean, SZU Medical School), Dr. Qian Li (Assistant President, SZU General Hospital), Dr. Lisa Ai (Vice Director of the Teaching and Research Department, SZU General Hospital), Dr. Jun Wu (Director of the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery, First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University), Dr. Guangtao Huang (First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University), and Dr. Siwei Wang (Zunyi Medical University).

Prof. Ming Zhang delivered a warm welcome to the University of Verona delegation, and expressed her gratitude for the visit and her hopes for continued collaboration between the two Universities in the future.

Dr. Qian Li introduced SZU General Hospital, covering the faculty, research centers, international collaborations, and its ongoing expansion.

Prof. De Santis, Dr. Nocini, and Dr. Gelpi each delivered academic lectures titled: "Transverse Surgical Approach: From lmplantology to Reconstructive Microsurgery of the Facial skeleton-Dental Implant Reconstructions"; "Transverse Surgical Approach: From Implantology to Reconstructive Microsurgery of the Facial Skeleton-the Large Reconstructions of the Facial skeleton with Free Revascularized Flaps"; and "Transverse Surgical Approach: From Implantology to Reconstructive Microsurgery of the Facial Skeleton-Digital Acquisition of Biometric Parameters. Intra and Extra Oral Relevance". In these lectures, they shared cutting-edge research achievements in the field of oral surgery.

Prof. Xu awarded Prof. De Santis and Dr. Nocini anointment certificates of Visiting Professor of Shenzhen University Medical School.
